24th of July

We had our annual 24th of July Dutch Oven dinner. My dad and Ryan did a marvelous job cooking up some delicious food. Ryan and Jess got some Dutch Ovens for a gift and Ry has been wanting to learn the tricks of the trade. He did a great job.

We had dutch oven chicken & ranch fried potatoes. 

To top it off,  Ryan helped show me how to make a cake in the dutch oven.
 Spread two cans of cherry pie filling in the bottom of the dutch oven. Then you mix the cake mix with a can of Coke and throw in a handful of chocolate chips. Spread this over the cherries, cook, and boy is it delicious.

 

We started up the fire pit and enjoyed the fire before setting off fireworks courtesy of Spencer. He was aching to try the aerial ones now that they are legal. It was awesome.
